Warweight
Physics melee where every hit is real.
Every fighter in Warweight is an active ragdoll: muscles pull the body into poses, and every swing is a real collision between steel and flesh. There are no canned hit animations. Where the goblin flies, whether the axe takes an arm, whether the block holds: physics decides.
Weight is power. A heavier fighter is taller, stronger and tougher. A 40 kg goblin can dance around a 200 kg minotaur, but one kick from the minotaur sends him flying.
What you can do
- Directional strikes. Flick the mouse before you click: left or right for a side swing, up for an overhead, down for a thrust. Chain blows in figure-eights.
- Real fencing. Raise your block toward the incoming blow, parry at the last moment to stagger the enemy, feint, and watch your stamina.
- Cut, crush, impale. Blades sever heads and limbs, maces crush, spears run through and stick. A broken arm drops its weapon, so you keep fighting with fists and kicks. Gore can be turned off in Settings.
- An arsenal to grab: sword, longsword, spear, hand axe, battle axe, great axe, mace, war hammer, club, shield, bare fists. Pick weapons up from the ground or the fallen, or throw yours at the enemy.
- Kicks and running jump kicks. Your whole body weight goes into the blow.
Races
Human, Goblin, Orc, Gnome, Minotaur. You start as a human. The others sit in cages: win their Rescue campaign to free them and play as them. Ogres are enemies only, and they are as unfair as they look.
Modes
- Play: a 12-level campaign, from a single goblin to a minotaur with an orc bodyguard.
- The most fun: 2 vs 2, 3 vs 3 and free-for-all, one click from the menu. Friendly fire is on.
- Battles: duel, six-on-one, and Scenarios: race against race in fair numbers (three minotaurs vs four orcs, a mob vs an ogre), stage after stage, with a boss at the end.
- Online duel (experimental): 1 vs 1 against a real player. Servers are in Vietnam and Russia; play feels best within your region.
- Practice: a sandbox with up to 24 fighters, plus a step-by-step tutorial.
Early prototype
Warweight is a solo project in early development, updated almost every day. Expect odd physics moments (some of them are the best part) and balance that changes from week to week. Your feedback shapes the game. Tell me in the comments what felt great, what felt wrong, and what broke.
Controls
- WASD move, Shift run, Space jump, mouse camera
- LMB strike; flick the mouse first to choose the direction (wheel back for overhead, forward for thrust)
- RMB block (press it just before a blow lands to parry)
- F kick, Q one- or two-handed grip, 1–4 weapon slots, E pick up, R throw
- Enter next fight, Esc pause and settings
Gamepad is supported. On phones and tablets the browser version has touch sticks; play in landscape.
Downloads
Play right here in the browser, or download for Windows, macOS or Linux. The builds are not code-signed:
- Windows: if SmartScreen appears, click “More info”, then “Run anyway”.
- macOS: the first time, right-click the app, then “Open”. If it says the app is damaged, run
xattr -cr /path/to/Warweight.appin Terminal.
Low FPS? Esc → Settings: lower the render scale, turn off shadows and anti-aliasing.

Install instructions
Windows: unzip and run Warweight.exe. If SmartScreen appears, click “More info” → “Run anyway” (the game isn’t code-signed, normal for small indie builds).
macOS: unzip, then right-click the app → “Open” → “Open” the first time. If macOS says it’s damaged, run in Terminal: xattr -cr /path/to/Warweight.app
Linux: unzip and run ./Warweight.x86_64 (if it won’t start: chmod +x Warweight.x86_64).
Or skip all this and play right in the browser on this page.

I've been playing this so much now.
Admittedly, the visuals tend to bug out a little, but the game is still enjoyable.
Awesome game!
Thanks so much! Really glad you're enjoying it despite the visual bugs. I’ll keep fixing issues and improving the game with each update!
